Gyatri Mantra (the
mother of the Vedas), is one of the mosy sacred and ancient
mantras - inspiring wisdom. Its meaning is that "May
the Almighty God illuminate our intellect to lead us along
the righteous path". The mantra is also a prayer
to the "giver of light and life" - the
sun.
The Twameva
Mantra follows on from the Guru Mantra. This mantra
is usually recited at the conclusion of a prayer session,
meditation, or religious function. Here the devotee surrenders
his or her individuality to God for his Grace.
The Maha-Mrityunjaya
Mantra is a life-giving mantra. It is a mantra that
is said to rejuvenate, bestow health, wealth, a long life,
peace, prosperity and contentment. It is known to ward
off death and accidents of all descriptions. Besides,
it has a great curative power. It is a Moksha (liberating)
mantra also.
